Community Reflections from Sketches Montessori: 8 Years of Growing Together

As Sketches Montessori completed 8 years on 14 July 2025, we found ourselves pausing to reflect—not just on the milestones, but on the meaning. Not just on what we’ve built, but how it’s felt. And perhaps most powerfully, we turn to the voices of the people who’ve walked this journey most closely with us: our parent community.

On this occasion, we invited parents and educators—both new and long-standing—to share their thoughts. What we received was nothing short of extraordinary.

What began as a simple request has evolved into a collection of beautiful reflections—each one offering a glimpse into a deeply personal, often transformative journey. Some are short and sweet, others read like heartfelt letters. But they all share one thing: the quiet, powerful realization that education is not just about the child—it’s about the family, the home, the educators, the community, the worldview, and the future we’re shaping together.

From first steps and first words to learning empathy, confidence, and independence, these reflections tell a story not of a school, but of a living, breathing community. A space where values are practiced, not preached. Where children are not taught who to become—they are allowed to unfold on their natural path of development.

🌱 Independence & Confidence

Montessori often begins with a shift—a moment when a parent steps back and sees their child step forward with assurance. These reflections capture that beautiful unfolding of independence.

  • Montessori has played such an important role in shaping Anvika’s growth… she’s truly understanding, not just memorizing. She’s also more independent in brushing, dressing, eating, and serving food.”— Shikha Srivastava, Mother of Anvika (3y1m)

  • “We’ve witnessed our daughter blossom in confidence, independence, and empathy—qualities that we value so deeply and that have been nurtured so gently here.”— Bhawana Chandel, Mother of Meher (5y3m)

  • “We noticed a sense of satisfaction on his face when he comes back home after a fruitful day.”— Ankita Goel, Mother of Manan (3y4m)

  • “From a shy, introverted child to a confident, expressive one—Sketches has made all the difference.”— Neha Sharma, Mother of Amay (6y2m)

  • "She wants to do everything by herself now—from reading to helping around—and that joy of independence shows.” — Meenakshi Sharma - Mother of Pankti, 3y10m

🧠 Observation & Parenting Growth

Parents are learning too—slowing down, becoming mindful, and choosing to see their children anew. These quotes reflect that parallel journey.

  • “Daily I remind myself to take a pause, a deep breath, to be more present. My child is an explorer—and he guides me to grow alongside him.”— Divya Jain, Educator and Mother of Videh (4y)

  • “Montessori has not just changed our child—it has changed us. The slowing down, the observing, the unlearning.”— Elementary Parent

  • “Teachers treat children with respect, which they imitate naturally. Sketches is the only authentic Montessori school we found in the NCR.”— Prabdeep Singh, Father of Prabhkirat (5y)

  • After a 2.5-year break, their return only deepened our conviction that this approach remains timeless.”Ruchi Sinha, Mother of Aanya & Arjun, 8y10m

🫱🏽‍🫲🏼 Community & Belonging

At Sketches, learning doesn’t happen in isolation. A true sense of belonging—among children, educators, and parents—is woven into daily life.

  • “The guides supported us with insights, encouraged us during uncertain phases, and celebrated milestones with joy.”— Bhawana Chandel, Mother of Meher (5y3m)

  • “The school is like a second home. Teachers are so approachable and parents are like-minded—it truly feels like a community.”— Casa Parent

  • “The team remains accessible, collaborative, and tirelessly supportive of each child’s needs.”— Bhavana Mahajan, Educator and Mother of Cheshvika (4y10m)

🧩 A Child-Led Way of Life

Montessori isn’t just about learning—it’s a way of seeing and respecting the child. These reflections highlight the deeper layers of this approach.

  • “I’ve started following a more child-led approach—focusing on his overall wellbeing rather than just academics.” — Anshu Mangal - Mother of Divit, 3y4m

  • “There is a strong connection between my child and her guides—she talks about school daily and feels happy there.”— Priyanka Purwar, Mother of Anika (6y7m)

🌻 A Nurturing, Prepared Environment

Every corner of the environment invites calm, purpose, and beauty.

Here, children find safety, joy, and the quiet confidence to explore their world.

  • “I often tell people that Sketches is like a second womb for my daughter—she feels safe, calm, and respected.”— Anubhuti Verma, Mother of Dhriti (3y5m)

  • “The environment here is so calm and beautifully prepared. It inspires curiosity and focus without ever being loud or chaotic.”— Vinuja Manoharan, Mother of Shrithik (4y9m)

  • "The school’s grounded, no-frills approach has cultivated her not just academically, but as a whole individual.” — Rakesh Sehgal, Father of Vihaana, 6y5m
